We have provided lodging to people from around the world in our Patagonian guesthouse." • "Alba's House is located 15 minutes from the international airport and 5 minutes from downtown. From Alba's House, guests can do many traditional excursions. For example: you can take a boat ride on the Beagle Channel, tour the countryside, visit historical "estancias" (Patagonian sheep ranches), the Old Prison Museum, and the Museum of End of the World. You can also go to any of the cultural centers including art galleries, the exhibition center and craft shops. In addition, you can fly over the city, go sailing, enjoy the local flora and fauna, and take the Tren del Fin del Mundo." • "Maritime fauna includes sea lions, elephant seals, penguins and many types of birds. Terrestrial fauna includes guanacos, red Fuegian foxes and beavers. You can practice your favorite sport, including fishing, golf, hiking, trekking, horseback riding, mountain biking and diving. We stayed at La Casa de Alba before we started an antarctic trip. Alba and her son made the first part of our trip truly special. They helped us pick activities in the area that were fun, well suited to our family, and that met our price requirements. Alba took time and interested in answering our questions about Argentina and Ushuaia. We felt at home, safe, and well guided to fantastic holiday. The other quests at La Casa de Alba shared our interest and also helped us to learn more about Argentina and our upcoming trip. When we left La Casa de Alba after our two day stay, we found we had done and learned more than we ever expected. We felt like we were leaving family. We will definitely stay at La Casa de Alba when we next get to Ushuaia. — Ambrose (2006-12-31) We stayed at Alba's for three nights in February, 2004, before going to Antarctica.
