My wife Tuula and me stayed four nights at Sergios B&B 2006. Sergios flat was also ok. I'm 74 and pensioned -- short of money, and we used to go camping for years and years ago. So the Sergios situated three blocks from Termini Stazione was perfect. Look his prices and think also trips from and to the airport. We were just walking to all important places in Roma except hill Trastevere witch we took by bus. There is not climatiseur, through open window are those usual street voices to be heard and kitchen is small, you have to wait to toilet in the morning, and Sergio himself is a nice young man. He is there quite limited times except when guests are coming and going. Meanwhile you live as at home. If we are going to Roma we are going to Sergios again -- but our needs are quite small.

I thought it was great for the price I paid.

Good value budget accommodation. It cost 70 euros per double, when most similar places wanted 90 euros. Sergio was very helpful.

If anyone is going to Rome, and thinking of booking lodgings at Sergio House, I would suggest that they think twice. I stayed there over a recent trip and what they claim in their blurb on this site is NOT true. I was stuck in a room without air conditioning (which I did not expect, so that did not bother me), and the only way to get air circulation was to use a lousy cheap fan that took at least 5 minutes to sputter to life, and to leave the door open. There is NO maid service (and in part I might be to blame for not demanding that my sheets be changed every day!), NO bed linen change, so really if you don't say anything they won't do ANYTHING. There is NO TV, so I don't know why they bother to say there is. The only decent thing was that they had a fridge! They have this one horrendous washroom, that is so tiny, it is difficult shutting the door with ease (btw the door doesn't even LOCK) and it is crawling with insects, with a resident spider that comes out to greet you every morning! The owners, also feel no shame in taking a piss with the door open, so that is something one might look forward to seeing upon returning to your room! As well, the owners have no consideration for the safety of its guests as they will willing show you the door in the middle of the night if you have to make a phone call, because they won't let you use their phone but tell you where to find the nearest pay phone! Normally, I am not so particular about where I stay BUT this was the absolute WORST, and they boldface lie that I thought I should warn anyone who may be thinking of staying there.
