Could be a great place, lots of little annoyance made it average
My friends in Lisbon were worried as it is district of Lisbon with a bad reputation, but it was fine, walking back at night, was colourful, never threatening. Now for the hostel -- try to get a room with a window which does not give out on a wall, and a bed which does not creaks so much that you wake yourself up in the middle of the night, and only then you will appreciate the beauty of this place, because it is rather stunning with its garden on the second floor, a brilliant place to have breakfast. Oh yes, breakfast which is not supposed to be included is included, and don't worry if there is a moment of panic at registration. You may have thought you had booked a room with private facilities, but even if you did, you may not end up in one. Actually, not for lack of trying, but I have not been able to establish if any room had toilets in. Some staff said yes, some said no so when it comes to get information, just double check elsewhere. Despite all that and for some peculiar reason we both enjoyed our stay, and I am sure you will too.
