I picked this hotel because I read only positive reviews of it. Although the neighborhood was a little shady, the hotel itself looked nice. When I arrived the front desk clerk was not friendly. I asked her for a baby crib and was informed there was a ten dollar a night charge. This is an ammenity that is usually provided for free. We had reserved a suite and it was large and I thought the decor was nice. But after walking across the floor a few times my feet were black with dirt. Then I took a shower and couldn't find a blow dryer. I called the front desk and was told I could come down and get one "if they have one." Again, this is an ammenity that is usually provided in the room. The next morning I awoke to discover our room covered with ants. They were all over the kitchen and had gotten into leftover food in the trash. When I went to the front desk to complain they said it was my fault for leaving food in the trash (what do they expect when their rooms have a full kitchen?). They don't provide daily maid service (not even trash pick up) and advised me I could take out my own trash to the dumpster behind the hotel. After speaking with the manager they did send someone up to spray the ants with bug spray. My kids had ants crawling up their legs and half the suite was unusable because of the ants and the smell of the pesticide. The following morning my husband washed his face and found a roach on the towel as he was drying off! That was the final straw. We packed up and left, seven days earlier than we were supposed to. The hotel has a policy that if you leave early you have to pay twenty-five percent of your unused nights. No wonder. They probably have people leave early all the time! At least they were apologetic and did not charge us the twenty-five percent fee given the circumstances.
