The Hostelz.com Review
If you've ever wanted to stay in a lovingly restored Ottoman Building, then the Odyssey Guesthouse is the place to do it. The Odyssey is a wonderful, friendly place and conveniently located near two of Bergama's major attractions. It is one minute from the Red Basilica and ten minutes from the lower part of the Acropolis.
All the rooms are spacious, clean, and thoughtfully prepared, with small touches that make it feel like home. A generous breakfast is provided in the room cost and the owner happily provides free glasses of tea and advice about Bergama. Their are two common areas for guests, a comfortable lounge complete with a reading library, and a deck with brilliant views of the Red Basilica and Bergama. A book exchange, one to one, is also provided as is free internet access and the use of a kitchen. A washing machine is also available for use at a small fee.
Getting to the Guesthouse is easy. From the Otagar, turn right and follow the main road towards the Basilica until you see their signs, about a ten-minute walk.

We loved the Odyssey Guesthouse. It felt like home, and we stayed longer than planned as it was so comfortable and welcoming. Go and experience their hospitality for yourself -- it's unbeatable and Bergama is a great town to explore! — Kat (2006-10-24)

Odyssey Guest house is a great place to base your time in Bergama -- a very friendly host (English-speaking), rustique house with great views, comfortable atmosphere, good price, and placed at the heart of the old side of town. The house itself has been restored and is worth seeing, with ample rooms, high ceilings and the feeling of being transported almost a century back. The decoration is well balanced and has a good selections of interesting books. Best stay I had in my two weeks in Turkey. Bergama has the air of a village but of bigger size. Multiple shops with traditional goods, nice local restaurants/lokantas (dinners), and a vivid high street. On tops, the Monday market is also quite worth a visit. It is home to Pergamum (mountaintop Acropolis) and other Greek-roman-byzantine outstanding ruins, which are some of the finest to be found in Turkey. As well, a thirty-minute dolmus (minibus) ride will get you to Chandarli and Dikili, two nice seaside towns with good uncrowded beaches, which are worth going for the day (or two). As well, it is close to some great green plateaus for those wanting some hiking and picnics. — Santiago (2006-09-05)

Excellent Dudes. come here if you are in bergama, its all new and clean. marble bathrooms, the best turkish breakfast we had, splendid terrace with a view of the cathedral and the acropole, and the host is so friendly. we feel at home and we decided to stay one more night because its so nice. its a must. — simon (2006-07-10)

I enjoyed staying here. In fact, I stayed in Bergama longer than I intended because I was so comfortable here. The breakfast (included) was excellent too! I would recommend this guest house to anyone looking for a comfortable, quiet visit in the old town area, just across from the Red Basilica. — Randall (2006-07-07)
