5  Wonderful! We couldn't imagine a better place to stay in Siem Reap! We stayed in Rosie's Guesthouse in August 2008 and had a fantastic time. The hotel is situated in a good part of Siem Reap -- within easy biking distance of Angkor Wat and the other temples. The whole guesthouse is just lovely -- beautiful decor, clean, interesting art and literature available to guests -- it's run with a great attention to detail. Our room was clean with art and furniture that you would expect from a fancy hotel. The bathroom was also clean with reliably warm water. We had a choice of air-conditioning or fan, but we chose a fan and were just fine. The owners are very interesting expat Australians with a dog named Pickle and her adorable puppies. They were very helpful with our plans -- we extended a day at the last minute and they offered to arrange bus transport from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh and then on to Saigon. They didn't charge anything for their help with logistics and were very willing to give travel suggestions. We also arranged to do our laundry through their services and it was done very professionally. The adjoining Guesthouse restaurant is not to be missed. The staff are local Cambodians and very friendly and knowledgeable. They offer both Western and Khmer cuisine -- both are delicious. We were especially fond of their fresh fruit shakes made to order. We even had a few special requests (like shakes made from local dragon fruit) that were gladly obliged. The owners make a point of employing and educating local Cambodians and participating in a number of charities. The Cambodian staff are given experience in English and management. We have some wonderful memories of sitting in the restaurant at night while drinking delicious fruit shakes and reading the guidebooks of various South East Asian countries while occasionally petting Pickle and her puppies. It was wonderful. Very highly recommended!  , United States ()
5  Stayed at Rosy Guest House while in Siem Reap. The place was great! From the wonderful staff to the delicious food, nicely priced drinks, and last but not least, the stunning pickle. Simon was more than happy to help you out with things to do and a bit of local knowledge. A wonderful, chilled, and friendly place by the river. Perfect to just relax and watch the world go by. Truly one of the best and cleanest (the place was spotless) guest houses I have stayed in in Southeast Asia.  ()
