Pleasant stay My friends and I stayed at this hostel about two weeks ago (may 2010), Xavier the owner is very friendly and helpful he even taught us how to cross the street (which is quite difficult with all those motorcycles). he also gave us some tips about the city, where to go what to do. Our stay was pleasant and since the hostel is about ten minutes away from the airport there was no need for us to rush or consider our travel time going there. To Xavier and his staff, a big thanks to all of you! — rowena f. , philippines (2010-05-30)

Unbelievable Value I need to start this with two qualifications. We've been traveling summers for three years now, and we are both university students. We swore we would review this hostel last summer when we were there, but we just couldn't find the time. Xavier and the staff are incredibly helpful. We arrived at 1 a.m., Xavier stayed up with his assistant to wait for us. The room is impressive -- refrigerator, private bathroom, balcony, the works, and for what, $10/night?! On our last day, we had very little time, so we organized a tour through Xavier to see the War Crimes museum, the Cu Chi tunnels, and to do a little shopping. I can't say that the price was shockingly low, but we had a private car, a perfectly efficient and knowledgeable chauffeur, and we hit everything and still made it to the train station on time. For those of us who like to backup pictures while traveling, pay special attention: Xavier runs a business from the downstairs portion of the house, so the Internet connection has very good upstream bandwidth. I was backing up pictures at 300KB/s. Personally, I think Ho Van Hue is a complete gem and I'm equally happy to let it remain a secret and keep it unspoiled or to give Xavier the business he and the organization deserve. — Matt & Kathryn , USA (2009-08-04)

Impressive The Ho Van Hue Bed and Breakfast is located about 30 minutes outside of rush hour from the sights, but the neighborhood has fantastic restaurants. Xavier (the proprietor) and his staff provide you with attentive and fantastic service. The B&B includes many perks, including its location on a quiet alley, a bunch of english TV channels, free internet, free bottled water, bathtubs, a breakfast of super-fresh fruit, and more. This is a great place to be introduced to Saigon as they can also organize small private tours around. — Matthew Levine , USA (2008-05-10)

Fantastic staff, very close to airport After a harrowing taxi experience from the airport we met both Xavier (the wonderful owner of the B&B) and Miss Hang (his amazing assistant). They were exceptionally helpful getting us organized and settled in Vietnam. The room and bathroom were both very clean and the room was very spacious. The location is very near the airport and about a ten-minute (30,000 to 50,000 dong) taxi ride to the downtown "tourist" area. In the morning, there was a lovely fresh fruit breakfast with tea. We were exceptionally lucky to be able to talk with Xavier during breakfast -- he is a very interesting man and speaks about five languages! Miss Hang was also very helpful in booking our next flight up to Hanoi. I would definitely recommend staying here! — Vanessa , Canada (2008-01-14)

The staff was warm, and incredibly helpful. I was a bit nervous when we first came to Vietnam, but Xavier made me feel right at home. He took us on a survival tour which showed us where to change money and how to catch a cab. We also wanted some suits tailored, but when we went there it was closed so he took our measurements and brought them in for us because we were going to Hanoi. Without Ho Van Hue our trip wouldn't have been nearly as enjoyable. — Ben Ryan , Canada (2007-05-07)

the staff was very friendly and helpful and gave useful information. a very nice place to stay -- there is a really personal atmosphere at bed&breakfast, also a big advantage is the calm location. they were so kind to organise private tours in the near area of HCM. I felt very well at this place, and if I ever came to HCM a second time, i would stay there again! — Ms. Pertl , Austria (2007-04-19)

The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, the place is very clean, not a tourist trap. I always feel happy and very pleased with my stay at the Bed and Breakfast Ho Van Hue every time I am back there. It's really a home away from home. Thank you very much! — Louis Gogniat (2007-01-06)
