Description
We are located in the centre of Hanoi Vietnam, the ancient street and financial heart of the city. The hotel is close to the banking and shopping streets, diplomatic and public offices, making it an extremely convenient base for activities for both travellers and businesspeople.
Our quiet rooms make the nearby hustle and bustle seem miles away.

The 2 star Fortuan Hotel offers tastefully decorated and high standard rooms, tour desk (we organize also many travel tours) and restaurant.

(Please be aware that the Fortuan Hotel has been the victim of a recent scam where guests that have booked a stay at the Fortuan have been transported to the other hotel instead on check in. The Other has a paper sign plastered over its real name and falsely claims to be the Fortuan Hotel, tricking guests into believing they have their booking! Please note that the true Fortuan Hotel that hostels.com have been dealing with, and for which we have received some excellent feedback about, is at 68 Hang Bo Street. They follow regular payment procedures and never ask you to pay in advance. Make sure
you check carefully your address before checking in.)

1 Old, dirty, cavenous - walk on by!
I really don't recognise this hotel when reading the self-description. It currently pays taxi drivers to switch passengers to it by having a member of staff wait outside the requested hotel and then, when the hapless passengers approach in their taxi, this man rushes out and says 'they are full' and requests that they go to to the Fortuan. This hotel doesn't deserve anyones patronage. (I inspect hotels)

1 Terrible
I'm not sure about the scam that they talk about above but my experience is this. We booked a stay at a different hotel (I forget the name) and the different hotel said they were full when we arrived. Then they took us to this hotel. After a three-block walk with our huge backpacks -- hot, humid, and tired -- we took the room. The room is super shabby and nothing like the pictures. The attached bathroom was in a terrible state and the air-con was broken (stuck on high). At the time we stayed, they were doing some construction and we had to walk through it to get to our room (probably dangerous?). I'm not sure if we stayed in the "fake" Fortuan Hotel, but the facade of the building, front desk look exactly the same. We've stayed at some bad hostels, but this one took the cake.
