2   Scam It's a place where you'll most probably get scammed. "Jimmy" and his staff will try to sell you anything, and you cannot bring any food or drink purchased outside, which is totally controlling. The room was nice but it was not worth to be scammed at the end by "Jimmy" trying to use his boss authority to convince us that we had to pay more than the price on the booking site and insulting us on our nationality. I guess he does it to every fourth customer. Really bad attitude.  , canada ()
1  Jimmy is a very arrogant owner, offers no help when asked. There are no real facilities in winter (restaurant, food, drink) and still you're not allowed to bring in anything from outside. Unless they give you permission. Control freaks and we felt very uneasy, not a good atmosphere at all! It was cold and they can't guarantee hot water either. He will try and make as much money out of you as possible. Not what you might expect when visiting their website. There are a lot more, better, and cheaper options in Selçuk. Would not recommend this place.  , NL ()
4  This hostel is situated in the centre of town, walking distance to everything you need. The bus station is a three-minute walk away. The staff were very helpful and helped us with everything we needed. The breakfast is a standard Turkish breakfast, and it is served buffet style, so you can eat as much as you want. The bathrooms were clean, but the shower pressure was not very good at all. They have an extensive library consisting of photocopied pages in folders. You can read about Ephasus and Turkey in general, which was very useful for us. Overall I was quite happy with this hostel considering the low price we paid, and would definitely recommend it.  ()
1  I found the staff at this guesthouse unfriendly, controlling and too business-oriented. They seem so tired all the time and appear irritated. This is hardly the friendly environment backpackers like to enjoy in a foreign country. I can even say that staff at Jimmy's place are arrogant. There is no sense of Turkish hospitality there. For example, during my stay at the guesthouse, they constantly asked me what I did that day (not in a friendly chitchat way, but more in a controlling way) or where I'm going the next day. If I told them my plan they try to sell their products. When I politely rejected their offer they asked me why. (Why should I even have to give my reasoning??) I felt that my space was violated by their attitude. Granted that they have a nice library (collection of information on Turkey) and offer many convenient services to their customers, the over-all impression that the guesthouse gives is a very unpleasant one. I highly recommend people NOT to stay in this guesthouse. Two thumbs down.  ()
