Given there are so many lovely places to stay in the Yasawa Island group, I would never recommend anyone stay at Korovou. I recently returned from a five-night stay there and was sorely disappointed (as were many other travellers I met there). Staff are out to rip you off -- beware that the room rate you are charged may well vary between when you book, when you check in and when you leave, and that you will be powerless to complain because there are no computers or phones on the island and no way of getting back to the mainland without using a Korovou boat. Bures do not appear to have ever been cleaned particularly well -- our private bathroom came complete with the unmistakable stench of stale urine and was not cleaned at all during our stay. Nightly entertainment is ok, but you will have to pay to watch the dancing. Lunches are awful -- lots of corned beef and soya sauce. Dinners are ok. Basically for the prices charged here you can do better elsewhere!

Overrated. It seems they just called themselves "eco tour resort" to get government funding as there was nothing environmentally friendly about them. They had no recycling and just burned the plastic in big piles. They overcharged for accommodation, especially considering the desperately poor quality of the food they provided. Then they added on extras such as $5 for a bottle of water (because you couldn't drink from the tap) and $3 for the night entertainment. If you didn't want to pay for the night entertainment you couldn't sit on the deck and were forced back to your tent where there was no light at 8 o'clock. Accommodation prices seem at their discretion, too, as everyone was paying different amounts for the same thing!? Lucky for them, the island was quite nice and had a really beautiful beach about a 10-minute walk away...but you had to pay for that, too!
