One could hardly call House L.A. a hostel -- more like a cosy bed and breakfast at a fabulous price. Nestled in the small town of Fussen, House L.A. is a great find. The owner is very friendly and showed us to our room which had gorgeous views of the Alps. The beds are comfortable with down comforters and towels are provided. The room and bathroom are spotless and very well decorated.
It´s not really a great hostel to meet people as there is no common room, but we ended up making some friends when the owner drove us all to the bus station in the morning so we could go see the castles.
The only possible downside was that it is about a fifteen-minute walk from the train station, but it is easy to find. And as mentioned before, the owner drove us back there in the morning.
The best part about the hostel? Other than the clean, bright, comfortable rooms with cable television -- the breakfast. Served to us in our room at a time we choose, the owner brought us warm rolls with butter and jam, eggs, and juice as well. It was absolutely delicious, and to eat it with a view of the mountains was a perfect start to the day.
