The Hostelz.com Review
We stayed here because we thought it would be the best place to pick up a lift for the crossing into Mauritania. We had no transport and thought it would be best to try there amongst other travellers for a spot in their car. We had no luck but the owner was really helpful and helped us organise a truck lift the next morning which took us part of the way.
The grounds are about 7km out of the centre of town, so if you have no transport you really should bring your own food or eat in town before you go there. Fortunately, again the owner provided for us He cooked a huge tangine for us at no cost and we ate with the staff.
The rooms are basic, with just matresses on the floor, but very clean. For those with cars and tents there is a separate section for them. There is definitely a camaraderie amongst travellers here and we saw many people that we had met earlier in Morocco, particularly at the embassy in Casablanca. And we met some of the people here later on during our journey in West Africa.

Ok 1st visit -- Jan. 2006, slept in our tents. the ground is rock solid! 2nd visit -- Jan. 2007, rented one of the rooms. use the toilet and sink facilities early. they get pretty disgusting if there is a big crowd in! — Roger Bruton , British (2007-12-23)
