We are in the Ancient City of Srilanka, right on Tissawewa Lake. We have air-conditioning and hot water in some rooms and other rooms are without.
Price range is suitable for budget travellers and those who wish to spend a little more.
All our rooms have a great view of lake and a private balcony.
We are 750 metres away from the Srimaha Bodi Tree, 300m. from the ruins, right across from the Royal Pleasure Gardens and Lovers Rock.
We also away from the traffic, therefore providing a very peaceful and quiet environment. For those who like to walk or run there is a great track along the bund, ideal for bird watchers. We are also exceptionally clean and pride ourselves on our high standard of customer care. Both western and eastern meals are served to our guests by friendly staff in our resturant which is on the second floor overlooking the lake.
The Guesthouse is run by a Portugese-Canadian and Srilankan couple. So if you decide to visit, you will be able to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of a beautiful, serene Guesthouse set in fabulous surroundings.
We can provide transportation from the bus, and train station. Airport pickups can also be arranged.
Medical facilities/ Doctor also available.

The hotel has a very convenient location it was a reason for us to choose it.
Our breakfast was included in the room charge but food is very expensive.

The owner is reAlly welcoming and friendly. She gives an interesting insight into Sri Lanka as she has lived abroad so she comes across more objective. She was prepared to change our room after we found three large cockroaches in our bathroom. The location is pleasant - right opposite the lake - and if your fork out enough you can have a balcony with the view. The reception area is huge so it's good to relax in with a bit of privacy on one of the couches.

They clearly were not expecting us and we almost left to go else where. The place was very dark and dingy upon arrival and downstairs rooms did not feel safe. As we would have struggled finding else where we stayed and upgraded to a better room, which was still a little dirty (dead cockroach on the floor etc). When we returned from dinner we found them much friendlier and actually ended up enjoying ouir stay. It is not close to any of the attractions.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in August 2004 and were well looked after. Rooms were clean and bathroom facilities were more than satisfactory. The owners were very welcoming and went out of their way to look after us. Laundry was also catered for.
