I had my stay with the USA hotel aka New Kowloon Hotel located at Tsim Sha Tsui. The hotel is actually a hostel which is way off my normal expectation. The room is small and the bed is also not what I requested for. I booked for a double bed which turned out to be a two single bed. When I asked to change room, they refused to do so. However, I've paid for the full sum and so I had no other choice. Two months in advance I've email to them regarding the specific room that I want and they agreed but I was issued not to one room close to it and it doesn't even have a small fridge. The toilet is about five feet by four feet big with the toilet bowl and water heater inside. The water heater timing operators from 7 a.m. to midnight only. When I bathe, I nearly flooded my own room as the toilet water was leaking into the room. The hostel is located inside a building. The building has most of the units manufacturing clothes. Therefore, you have to take the lift up to level thirteen for the hostel reception. But the lift is always packed with those non-hostel customers. It is old and slow which may takes about ten minutes for you to get in the lift. If you are staying in certain floor, then good luck to you! You may have to walk up or down even if you take the lift as the lift do not service every floor. I was given torn towels for most of my stays in the hostel. I often experience some itchiness after I used them. Once I interacted with some of the other customers of the hostel also agreed with me regarding the poor amenities and the deceiving introduction on the web.

i decided to stay at the hostel again after having to stay in hong kong for another night, on my second visit to hong kong. The place was booked out, even though i had booked a room in advance. The manager charged me 20 dollars extra to sleep on the floor. Yes my roommates paid 20 dollars less and had a bed. Reason why? Because i'm english, like most people in hong kong they will try and con you.

same as others, the pictures are not what it's really like. staff are unfriendly, security guards were racist and made fat american comments to me on our first night (almost ruined my holiday). a 3 in the morning the police raided the entire hostel everyone had to come outside with their passports. staff said nothing and did not apologise. room was terrible, broken shower, broken air con, dirty floor, and was absolutely tiny. if there was a fire there would have been no way out. only good point is the location is excellent. would I stay there again? not if my life depended on it.

2 The location is undeniable. It is a major tourist area that seems to never sleep. There are MTR subway-station entrances across the streets (but their directions say take the subway to Tsim Tsa Tswi East, a blue line, but you really want to get off at just Tsim Tsa Tswi, red line). The ferry port to Central is almost a straight walk of only fifteen minutes and the ferry port to Macau is about fifteen minutes away as well (but it's not a straight shot like the Star Ferry port to Central). One thing is for sure, they really know how to take pictures. The pictures you see on the site are for the rooms they just remodeled. They actually own several parts of the building on multiple floors. I had booked three single en-suite rooms and ended up with three different locations on two different floors. Two of the rooms were in the small area that had been remodeled and looked exactly as pictured while the other had a broken bathroom "door," a sink/shower head that only trickled out water at best, a busted air conditioner, and a ceiling fan that I feared would spin off and kill me in the middle of the night. From what I counted (and I'm not 100% sure about this), there were a total of six different sections they owned in this building (mostly purchased from other hostels -- you could even see the old name on the walls). Only two of the sections were remodeled and that is what you see on the site. So you have about a one in three shot of getting a good room in a good location for a good price. However that is only a 33% chance.

1 Don't believe the pics you see on the website because the real one is completely different. The room is very dirty, old, and small. No room service until you complain with the staff. No towel and pillow case. TV is not working. The toilet and bedsheet are very disgusting. Stay away from this hostel!
