Superb! We stayed here in July 2006. Martine is a great host, super-friendly, caring, and good fun to chat with! It is close to the beach and shops, and our room had the most comfortable bed of our trip! Plus we had a little balcony where we could watch street performers on a lively square packed with restaurants. Also, it is close to supermarkets and Martine lets you use her kitchen to cook in, which is lovely. I can't recommend this place more, thanks for a great stay! — Amelia (2006-10-09)

I studied abroad in Europe for three months and went travelling to different cities every weekend. This hostel is by far the best hostel I have stayed in. Me and three of my girlfriends rented a room (the red one to be exact!) for two nights. The lady who owns the place is amazing. We talked to her a little and she set us up with one of her son's friends to show us around the town. Anyways, I strongly recommend it! It's better than any five-star hotel because it has such great character! The rooms are gorgeous and cute and the lady who owns it is amazing as well. — Katie (2006-07-26)

We loved it although the bathroom was minimal. Would not work for big people. Hostess was very nice and helpful. We could use the kitchen for making breakfast coffe. The bed was excellent. Room and sheets nice and clean. Location is superb. Lots of restaurants in the neighbourhood. We can recommend this hostel and will go there again when we visit Nice. — Sten & Lena (2006-06-06)

This hotel was great if you are a very hard sleeper. The staff is very nice and helpful. However, the hotel is in the heart of the city and i did not sleep at all becasue of the noise. — Katie (2006-04-25)

Exceptional! I will definitely stay here if I go back to Nice again. This is a home converted into a very clean and cozy eight-room place for travelers. The owner is a charming old lady with a gorgeous granddaughter whom she baby-sits during the day. We paid 44 euros per night for a two-bed room with en suite bathroom and a small balcony. (We went in late September, which was mid-season. Prices vary depending on whether it is high, mid or low season.) It is right in the heart of the shopping district (literally 30 steps away from Louis Vuitton), a five-minute walk from the sea (beach mats can be loaned for free), and within walking distance to the morning market and old town. Its price is simply unbelievable for its location. — Joanne (2005-10-16)

This hostel is one of the best in Europe! A very nice and very helpful French woman named Martine runs the eight-room hostel. We paid 42 euros for a nice room that looks more like a hotel room than a hostel, with a sink and a dinner table. The bathroom is small and shared by everyone but we didn't run into any problems. The best part is the location, which puts you right in the middle of the action, but without the noise. It's a 5-minute walk to old town Nice. We liked it so much we tried to reserve an extra night but it was full. Martine made some calls and found us another hotel. I highly recommend this hostel. — Daniel (2005-09-06)

This was such a nice place! Alas they only have 8 rooms, so it books up really fast. It's right by the main shopping and restaurant streets by the looks of it, and minutes from the public beach, which was fun. The woman there was very nice, same with her cat!
The room was nice and clean. The shower was kind of moldy, which wasn't so hot, but it worked. There's only 1 shower and 1 bathroom but it wasn't a problem. Also, there is free Internet on her computer to check your e-mail, which was handy.
As a side note, the kitchen is also the office by the looks of it, so it was closed when the woman wasn't around. Also, apparently due to high electricity use, the stove is turned off in the evenings so we had to use the microwave as best we could for dinner! Plates and things were hard to find, but it all worked out. :) Highly recommended, just make sure to book really far ahead. We only got to stay there one night — it was worth it, though. — Katie (2005-06-25)

Basic, but excellent location with an extremely helpful owner. We lost our passports and Martine was wonderful. She helped us through a very difficult situation. — John, Emily & Christine (2005-03-27)
