3 Good accommodation but poor staff
Rooms are ok, clean, and I had a big bathroom. I put an average rating because I didn't find the staff that friendly. I stayed three nights (I was asked to move because I didn't book further, which is normal). The manager didn't make me feel at ease, and when i tried to speak arabic, he coldly told me i'm english -- that as a tourist I didn't need to speak arabic. So goes the fun! And the other staff people weren't smiley when I would say Hi. I'm sorry but for me, the staff is what make you enjoy the stay.

5 This hostel was fantastic, the room was really nice and clean, all the modern conveniences -- air con, TV, fridge. The hostel also had a nice relaxing sitting area. It is close to nice places to eat (abou tarek to name one) and in walking distance of the Cairo Museum and other amenities. The owner looked after us incredibly well and was very kind to us. I would recommend this hostel for anyone wanting to stay in Cairo!

4 I just returned from Cairo and sent just a night at the King Tut hostel. The rooms were good for the price and the staff friendly. Definitely a bargain and in a good location too -- near lots of restaurants, shopping. The one thing I would recommend is do not book tours through them -- they are very overpriced! You can do the same tour on your own for much less. But definitely consider staying with them if you need a hotel in Cairo!

5 I was very surprised to be lucky from the first try. On the internet all hotels say excellent things about themselves. However, I was only guessing as I never knew in real until I stayed at King Tut hostel. You are definitely paying much less than what is deserved for its services. I strongly recommend this hostel to anyone who is looking for a clean, decent hostel with very friendly staff and a location very close to downtown. In particular I would emphasize on the outstanding services of Mustafa who proved to be very friendly and helpful.

5 The staff is incredibly helpful and the place is great for the price. Expect to be picked up at the airport/bus station, and greeted with complementary tea and "sheesha" (water pipe) in standard Egyptian fashion. They are able to arrange all your sightseeing and travel for you at respectable prices, but it can be done for cheaper if you're willing to go through the trouble (adventure) of going at it alone.

5 Despite the noise of Cairo I can highly recommend King Tut Hostel to any traveler coming to Egypt. The staff is friendly, professional, and the rooms are clean with private en-suite in some for a very reasonable price. They also offer to come and pick you up from the airport so you do not have to be hassled with out on the street (where it can get sometimes very annoying especially when you first arrive). They took very good care of me from the moment that I arrived til the moment I left and makes sure everything runs smoothly for you. Their motto is "Come as a Guest and Leave as a Friend" which is very true. They also have a cool Egyptian style common room where they offer you a welcoming drink upon arrival.

5 I stayed here for close to three months while I visited Cairo. It is a wonderful place to stay. Friendly staff, comfortable beds, clean rooms, and a secure place to leave your valuables -- what more could you ask for? Atef and his staff do everything in their power to ensure that your stay is as comfortable and pleasant as possible. My only gripe is that if they do your laundry, it comes back very wrinkly and requires ironing -- for an extra fee. The fee is minimal, though, and the annoyance is small. The schedule is flexible, the price is reasonable, and the location is superb. I recommend this place with no reservation. Enjoy your stay!

5 Our stay at the King Tut Hostel in Cairo was a pleasant experience. From the warm and friendly staff, to its clean facilities and comfortable beds, you can do no wrong by booking at this place. They provided us with late night pickup from the airport, and went on to aid us in planning our full stay in egypt from cairo to luxor to aswan we were given guides, meals, accommodation and travel. This is an experience no one should miss, let King Tut Hotel send you out right!

5 I found this hostel to be friendly, clean and located in a perfect area downtown. It is just far enough away from the main downtown circle to avoid the street hustlers but close enough to walk to the museum, restaurants, and banks. The staff was very helpful and truly understands customer service. They were also helpful in teaching the basics of Arabic in order to assist travelers new to Egypt. I am an avid traveler and would highly recommend this hostel.

5 I stayed here for four nights, the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th of August, 2005. It was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the manager arranged trips to all the local sites I wanted to see at a reasonable price. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I had my own room, which was very clean and comfortable. My only criticisms were: 1. The noise from the street at the front of the hostel, which made it a little difficult for me to get a good night's sleep, although in fairness it didn't seem to affect other people. 2. The water went off on the first night. It was eventually fixed, but I had to wait about an hour for a cool refreshing shower after a hot tiring day in Cairo. Overall, I would recommend this hostel. It is cheap, clean, comfortable and the staff are friendly.

5 I had a great stay at King Tut Hostel. It's in a great location. Atef and his staff are first class and were very helpful in organizing my trip around Egypt. They even allowed me a late checkout, as my train to Aswan wasn't until 10 p.m. I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Cairo.

4 The King Tut Hostel is a great place to stay in Cairo. The staff are very friendly and can assist in booking any tours or guides that you want — to Giza or beyond! The rooms are large and clean, and as a female traveller I felt comfortable here. Thanks to Atef and his team for helping make our stay one to remember!

1 The people here are pushy and they try to get you to buy a travel package in Egypt arranged by them.

5 I was very relaxed in this hotel and I will be back and come here again. If you want peace and quiet come here, you will love it. I have to warn you that this town is a very active town.
