Very friendly place for guests to relax!
I stayed here two nights and appreciated the friendliness and concern from the staff. There is a wonderful rooftop terrace for relaxing, having breakfast, and meeting other guests. The staff is happy to arrange any sightseeing trips and transportation. The price is very good and the location is on a quiet street, and close to everything. There is a homey feel here, and I felt the staff wanted me to feel very welcomed and "at home." I enjoyed talking with the staff who all seem to know English and other languages as well. The place is clean and rooms have balconies. The walls are painted with nice murals and there are nice places to sit around and read or hang out with others. Great ambiance. Good place to stay! Enjoy!

Basic but amazing atmosphere!
Really cool place to stay, basic rooms, and hot as hell in the summer but only 10egp per night! It's so good because it's got a massive chillout lounge on the roof, cheap beer in the fridge, and loads of backpackers just listening to music and having a laugh.

Each time I return to Luxor I make a point of booking into the Sherief Hotel. All I need to do is either phone or email my flight number in advance and a car will be waiting to transport me to the Sherief. September 2006 was my fourth visit and each time I received a warm and friendly welcome from all the staff who will advise you with any tours without being pushy. Staying at the Sherief you are at the heart of Egypt, mixing with other nationalities, and meeting the real people, and discovering its customs. Enjoy your stay.

The best place to stay in Egypt! From the airport pick-up until my goodbye it has been one pleasant stay. The guys really make you feel like you're at home. The foods, the sjisja, Bob Marley and Hakim on the roof terrace—everything they organized for us was brilliant!
