2 The management is very friendly. The location is great. However, my room was not clean and smelled badly. I have stayed at much better hostels for the same price in other parts of California. There is a TV in the room, but there is no cable. The TV catches one channel, but not very clearly. As for the Internet access, you won't be able to use it because there are two Indian guys who obviously reside at the hotel and who do all of their work on that one computer. There should be a 15-30 minute limit for all guests. It was very frustrating for me not to be able to check my e-mail. Overall, if you are not going to spend much time in your room, it's not a bad value.

5 Very convenient location. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful, and the price is unbeatable for a clean, private room.

4 Excellent location near Union Square, with very helpful staff and affordable rates. There is free internet access in the lobby.
