Tamarind Beach Hotel is a bungalow hotel by the white sandy beaches of the Indian Ocean.
Accommodation is set in a peaceful and friendly atmosphere, all rooms are facing one of the most beautiful and unspoilt beaches in Zanzibar. Tamarind is situated close to Uroa Village, a traditional fishing village. In Uroa there are only 3 hotels and still has this unique Zanzibar feeling, not yet discovered by "beach boys".
Tamarind is well suited for families with small children, the beach is safe and undisturbed.
Our staff is friendly and informal, we are famous for our home-like atmosphere.

Directions
Uroa Village, 36 km from Stone Town, 40 minutes drive, tarmac road all the way. Our location makes it convenient to make day trips to Stone Town, Spice Tour or Dolphin Tour. You can book our bus to collect you at the airport or harbor. In Africa it is good to be met by someone. Access from Dar es Salaam: Speedboats, 4 departures daily, first boat 7.00 last boat 4.00

We are a family of four from southern Sweden, and we stayed at Tamarind for one week in February 2004. It was great; we liked the beach and the village. The staff at Tamarind were very nice. They told us a lot about their island, and also showed us their village.
