Lonsdale Lodge was completely refurbished in April 2006 and comfortable rooms and friendly service is our aim.

We have mainly double and family rooms all of which are en-suite. A four poster bedroom is also available. All rooms have full central heating with coffee/tea making amenities in bedrooms.

Breakfast is available at additional cost, please advise on arrival, but we are a short walk from several cafes and resturants if required.

The area a few miles drive takes you into rolling Essex countryside or the exciting West End nightclubs, shops and the world famous tourist attractions of London.

Our local Wanstead Village with its historic green has a tranquil atmosphere, vibrant bistros and pleasant restaurants. The pretty woods, boating lakes and ponds of Whipps Cross & Wanstead Ffats are just across the road.

The local town of Ilford is well known for the Exchange Shopping Centre, beautiful Valentines Park, Wanstead Leisure Centre, Fairlop Sailing Centre and the Golf Course. We are on the edge of the Greenbelt landscape. Several conservation areas are nearby including Ancient Epping Forest and picturesque English Heritage Essex villages.

July 2005

I spent four nights in June 2005 in this B&B. The manager was nice, but the place wasn't all that great. There was dirt on the floor and the walls were paper-thin. You could hear everything. The staircase leading to the rooms was nightmarish... There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room but we didn't dare use them. The nearest underground station wasn't near. On the bright side, the place was easy to find.
