Not so bad
I stayed at this place in May '06 with the wife. We got here in the afternoon after being up for thirty-two straight hours. The room was not the cleanest, but the owner was super helpful, and the location is great. I am returning to stay with them this winter.

this is hotel is quality. everyone was really friendly, and everything was clean. they even folded all our clothes that were left on the floor for us. also where the hotel is situated is good you are about a minute away from one of the squares and the other two squares are only about ten minutes away. there were six of us and we all really enjoyed our stay and will return there again next time we visit Amsterdam.

The hotel was great. They got this man Fewzi Mohamed who was our cleener, he was very nice and pleasent. So i ask that you could show this message to hotel's owner that he knows that he's got a good worker there! most of our holiday went great because of this man and sorry about my english, it's not so great

Do not book this hotel over the Internet; call them personally. We booked the hotel over the Internet and had problems. And never, ever eat food from the hotel "restaurant." One from our group ordered eggs. They were all mucous and when he ate them, he just ran outside and vomited. However, the hotel is just great for those who want to smoke, drink and sleep cheap in Amsterdam.

This is a disgusting place but that could be its charm. I don't know — it's just a kebab shop with some rooms on top. "Hotel" might be a slight overstatement. We stayed on an extra day and got some sh*tty basement room for a fiver less. The guys are nice but we got into a few arguments. None of that, though, was about littering and smoking up the rooms. If you want a place devoid of any hassle that you can get completely f***ed up in, go for this place. It's probably one of the cheapest sets of private rooms out there. Don't book thought the Internet. Call them up and try to get a bargain or at least avoid the tax imposed by the Web site. Don't let the description fool you. Rembrantsplein is a fair trek from the proper city center. It's a 25 to 40 minute walk home, depending on how screwed up you are. The rooms are sh*t and not very clean at all (don't use the sheets).

First, they tried adding taxes to the price we were supposed to be paying according to the invoice from the booking website. Then, they led the four of us to a "4 bed room" which consisted of a bland room with 2 double beds. It was not quite what 4 straight blokes were expecting. Then when we complained they took the "taxes" off again (to try to keep us happy?). I didn't see anything of their "laundry service" or "airport pickup", also the "restaurant" is a kebab shop that the hotel is above. The t.v. broke half way through the week and, even though nothing was stolen, I didn't trust the owners one bit. In the end, it wasn't such a bad place to pass out every day and they did offer to pick us up at any time if we got too stoned/drunk/etc. which was nice but we didn't take them up on it.

It wasn't so bad! The guys working there were helpful (if a bit tedious with the constant weed references!) and they were lovely to our group. The place certainly wasn't amazing, but it was clean and dry and nothing got stolen. So all in all, it could have been a lot worse!

I'd suggest you don't choose this hostel if you'd like to have a great time in Amsterdam.
