Hostelz.com Guest Reviews

The place is essentially a spare flat which is being used as accommodation. We arrived to be greeted by a locked door, and sign asking any guests who had booked to telephone a number to be let in. So we had the fun of tracking down a pay phone which accepted cash and was not broken. The owner than drove over, via a traffic delay, to let us in, before heading home again. Not a great introduction. Breakfast comprised some plastic wrapped croissants, plastic wrapped toast, and a flask(!) of coffee left out the night before. Along with the inmates of the other room, we resorted to microwaving cups of water for a hot drink in the morning. The B&B is walkable from Principe station, but is a bit of trek from the old town. It is very close to Dinegro metro station, but unfortunately the metro closes at 9 p.m. (when I visited in October 2006), so you need to use the buses to get to and from the town centre. For transport purposes, it is perhaps handy that the B&B is on the main road. This does, however, mean there is no chance of sleeping with the window open. — Andrew (2006-11-08)
