Bay Cottage is a small, friendly family run Bed and Breakfast on the shores of Lough Neagh, half way between Antrim and Crumlin and only 3 miles from the International Airport. We are able to offer guests a choice of accommodation. In the house we have two very comfortable bedrooms, one with a King size double bed and a sofa bed with en suite facilities. The other bedroom is smaller, has a standard double bed and a single bed (used as a twin or for a couple with or without small child) and has a private bathroom. Both these rooms are equipped with TVs, hairdryers, hospitality trays, binoculars and have the use of the extensive fiction library at the top of the stairs. There is also a very comfortable sitting room with tourist information, jigsaws, board games, TV, selection of magazines etc. All rooms have views of the lough.
Our third room is not a room but an apartment which can be hired as self catering or bed and breakfast. It has one bedroom with the choice of a super king or twin beds, a sofa bed which opens into a 4ft bed and there is a second sofa bed in the living area. Please note the bathroom is accessed through the bedroom. The living area has a fully equipped kitchen area, with large dining table, comfortable chairs, the seating area has a TV, DVD and a few DVDs. Outside there is a deck area with picnic table and stunning views of the lough.
Our breakfasts are based on our own free range eggs and the pork products from the rare breed pigs we keep during the summer months. Elizabeth dabbles with growing her own fruits and vegetables but with disappointing results in the last few years which she blames on the weather! Evening meals are available by arrangement.
We have storage for bikes, motorbikes, off road parking for cars and storage for sports equipment for those wishing to play golf or try their hand at fishing. We also have a kennel and run for visiting dogs, this is next to the runs for our dogs so not suitable for dogs that do not like others! Please note dogs are not allowed in the house or apartment and must be walked on leads in the yard etc due to our poultry.
We have an ideal location for touring NI for work or pleasure as we are close to most major road networks. You can be in Belfast city centre in 30 minutes (outside rush hour), 50 minutes from the Causeway (direct route) and mmid Ulster with its wonderful collection of National Trust Houses is only 45 minutes.
We have been awarded a Silver by the Green Business Tourism Scheme and try to ensure that we minimize our impact on the environment.
