5  This hotel proved to be my oasis in Bangkok. The staff could not have been friendlier and the room was spectacular. The rooftop pool was a nice bonus — far away from the pollution and noise of the street below. The free breakfast each morning was wonderful. This is one of the nicest places in all of Thailand. I will come back and would recommend this hotel to any backpacker looking for a place to stay that is a cut above the rest. It's worth the extra dollars! It's in a perfect location on "the Road."  ()
1  I have stayed at this hotel four or five times. The first time was excellent! However I am sad to say that every time I stay here the attitude of the staff in the restaurant and the quality of the food drops. On my last stay here I was halfway through my meal when I found an earwig in it and sent it back. I was then charged for the meal. I complained to the restaurant manager who looked at me incredulously and said that I will be charged because I ate half of it. I sent a written complaint to the management about this, which was ignored and I have not heard from them. This is the way they treat repeat customers. Take my advice and pay an extra ten dollars and stay in a better hotel.  ()
