The Mewar Inn was great -- its true what it says on the card, a nice place to stay, and we wouldn't go anywhere else. When we go back to Udaipur, we will always head right there, the guys that run the place are amazing, and just leave you to relax, there is no pressure, and the roof top terrace is great for chilling!

I was here in August 2004. I spent some days in Udaipur and was happy with the Mewar Inn. It had really cheap but nice rooms, and friendly staff. Sure, you have to include the price for a ride to the city center. (Although it is not too far, so in the mornings I used to walk into the city, which takes about 20 minutes.) A ride into the city should cost you a maximum of 30 rupees.
