Gypsy Room Patong Backpacker House Reviews on Other Websites
4 Extremely clean, with very comfortable beds. It's a three-story apartment that seems to have been recently renovated. It's also nicely decorated. Altogether the place feels like an upscale private apartment with a maid. The person who runs the place, Jimmi, is also very nice and accessible.   — Robert Rosen (2011-06-11) Hostelbookers
4 Everything was clean, fully equipped kitchen, and the dorms looked so nice it felt like a hotel! Also, it feels a lot safer (as to getting your stuff nicked) than a lot of other places in Thailand/SEA.   — Jelmer Melissen (2011-05-18) Hostelbookers
4 Staff was very kind and yound which totally fits to backpackers. It's a little bit of the party area. But the hotel itself is very modern, clean and it has a shared kitchen where you can make yourself free breakfast. Very cool! We had the "Sunny" room and therefor had to use the bathroom in the 10 bed dorm which is a little bit awkward but as nobody slept in there no biggy at all!   — Stephan Ziehl (2011-05-02) Hostelbookers
4 Very kind, nice staff, and out of the party area of Patong. Easy going people and clean rooms. It's not a party hostel, but more something just to recover after being hit by the noisy roads of Patong and the big amount of Russian tourists...   — EWOUD VAN MAAREN (2011-03-05) Hostelbookers
5 Very comfortable bed nice room, very relaxing place. Friendly staff.   — FILIP STASIAK (2011-03-02) Hostelbookers
5 Really nice staff. We got picked up from the airport for 600B. Clean rooms. Cheap food and drinks from the kitchen. Free Wi-Fi. We met heaps of other travellers here.   — Melissa Gegg (2011-02-28) Hostelbookers
4 The receptionist was very helpful, particularly when arranging our taxi to the airport. It's quite a relaxed feel with breakfast available for you to make (toast, tea, coffee etc) a communal TV to watch, along with DVDs and a comfy living room. There is also one computer with free internet and a printer which we found very helpful!   — James Dall (2011-02-12) Hostelbookers
5 Great place to stay for a couple nights. They are close to town, have great internet connection for free, free wifi, amazing food that they cook (its cheaper than anywhere else in town) and it's delicious. The staff are so kind and will help you book everything you need. Great place to meet people too.   — Ashley Wray (2011-02-04) Hostelbookers
5 Loved staying at this hostel, staff were friendly and really helpful. Their food was amazing and def value for money. Hostel was excellent, really clean and rooms were comfortable and spacious. Location is a lil out of the way, but its good to be away from touristy spots.   — emma stone (2011-01-29) Hostelbookers
4 We really enjoyed our stay here - more then we enjoyed Patong itself actually. It's a lovely little hostel, a bit difficult to find for taxi drivers but just get them to phone the hostel for directions. No shoes to be worn indoors which keeps the place cleaner. We had the double bed with shared bathroom (bathroom was located in the 10 bed dorm or another upstairs). The hostel is very sociable with a kitchen, tv lounge area (loads of tv channels and movies) and balcony. The staff cook the most delicious and cheap food - you'd be a fool not to eat here. Free tea and coffee all day was great too. It's a good 15-20min walk to the beach which is ok. Excellent place and would definitely recommend.   — Clare Turrington (2011-01-27) Hostelbookers
5 The house was very nice. The view from the porch is very nice and the staff is helpful and friendly.   — Matthew Rogers (2011-01-25) Hostelbookers
5 great size, clean rooms, and above all else, cheap   — Freddy Mason (2011-01-17) Hostelbookers
5 Its awesome! Recommend highly   — Amy Vautin (2010-12-28) Hostelbookers
5 Gypsy Rooms was by far one of the best hostels we have stayed at on our travels...we had been travelling for 6 weeks when we arrived here and as soon as we walked in we loved it. We had a 10 bed dorm and when we saw the room we were amazed...it was so clean and the matresses were a dream...they were so thick and we couldnt wait to try them out. The owner Nina was absolutely lovely...she was so friendly and welcoming and told us some good things to go and see around Phuket. She even took us to the food market one day so we could by food to cook back at the hostel. The communal area is really chilled out with a wide screen TV and there is a free computer to use too. Nina is happy to let you print things off, which came in really handy for us what with booking flights etc. This place is so ideal for both couples or backpackers and it's just like a home away from home. Top class Nina!   — Kelly Clarke (2010-12-17) Hostelbookers
5 it was clean, all were very helpful and it was a pleasure to be there - i stayed longer than planed   — Martin Jahns (2010-12-15) Hostelbookers
5 The best hostel I stayed in in 11 month. This is more like a home than a hostel! I'm sittin on the balkony with my free breakkie and wifi... can't believe that's Thailand!   — Verena Liebald (2010-12-13) Hostelbookers
5 It was like home from home... after staying in various guesthouses around Asia this has to be one of the best.. if not the best. Nina is so welcoming and makes you feel at home. The place is SO clean.   — Maria Reader (2010-11-29) Hostelbookers
