• The Airport Express train from Oslo Airport to the Central Station takes 20 minutes. There are also trains and busses which will take 40 minutes. Outside the Central Station, Jernbanetorget, tram number 12 and 13 and bus number 30, 31 and 32 will take you to the hotel. The stop is called Hausmannsgate. There is at taxi rank by the Central Station. Walking distance from the Central Station to the hotel: 7–8 minutes.

• By Boat:
• If you arrive to Oslo with Stena Line or DFDS, the ferry will dock on Vippetangen. From Vippetangen you can take bus number 60 to Jernbanetorget (by the Central Station).
• From Jernbanetorget you can take tram number 12 and 13 and bus number 30, 31 and 32, which will take you to the hotel. The stop is called Hausmannsgate.
• If you arrive in Oslo with Color Line you will dock on Hjortneskaia. Bus number 1 will take you to Jernbanetorget (by the Central Station). From Jernbanetorget you can take tram number 12 and 13 and bus number 30, 31 and 32 which will take you to the hotel. The stop is called Hausmannsgate.

• By Bus:
• Most long distance buses arrive into Oslo Bus Terminal. There is a taxi rank by the terminal. If you want to take public transportation you have to walk to Jernbanetorget (by the Central Station). Tram number 12 and 13 and bus number 30, 31 and 32 will take you to the hotel. The stop is called Hausmannsgate.

• By Car:
• As you arrive in Oslo at E18, you will come to a traffic machine next to the new Opera building. Take the road towards Gjøvik (Road number 4). After a few hundred meters at this road, drive straight ahead in the first roundabout, take a left turn in the second roundabout. After 50 meters in this street called Hausmanns gate, take a right turn in the first traffic light, on to Christian Krogh's street. Follow this street until the end and you will see Anker Hotel straight ahead.

It was one of the nicest places we stayed at during our recent tour around Scandinavia. Not really a 'hostel', but very nice! The free breakfast was amazing, with a lot of variety on offer. It was a nice suprise after walking through the rotten end of town to a spacious clean budget hotel. The keycard system was very secure. I was lucky with my room too, overlooking lots of green trees and it was large for a single room with lux bathroom. I had no problems with noise and the buffet breakfast was excellect, especially since Oslo is so expensive, just fill yourself up for the whole day and go until late. If your looking for a place to stay this is it, sometimes it pays to pay a little bit extra, ie as opposed o Anker Hostel, where hardly anything is included and you stay in a box. ~In fact my room was better than the Atoria hotel. I could not recommend this hotel highly enough. Although Oslo overall is a very, very expensive city for visitors from outside Scandinavia, hotel Anker is great value for money.
