Started out bad from the beginning. The price of this guesthouse was misleading, there is a $100 per person fee we did not see advertized on the website. This guesthouse was not completed on Aug 16th as mentioned in the website. When my wife and I arrived we were told only our floor was completed, and the rest of the house was not done. We lived amongst construction on the first 3 floors. The guesthouse owner Paul Feinberg said to try and make up for it he would not charge us and the other tenant living there rent for that month. We had given Mr Feinberg a 1 month deposit. We intended on staying, but once the conditions of the construction became unbearable we had to leave. The construction chemicals were noxious and there was dust on everything, even on our completed floor. The sounds were terrible to be around, we were never there except only to sleep. Under the circumstances, we decided to immediately find another place to live. Mr Feinberg needed someone to help him clean the guesthouse and said he would pay me to, since I do not speak Japanese and was concerned about being able to find work. I cleaned 3 of the nastiest toilets and windows I have ever cleaned, with mold from decades caked around the crevices. That night, Mr. Feinberg told my wife and I he would return the whole deposit and pay me for my work. I returned the next day to continue, when he told me in front of a new guest that he would return our deposit if I didn't charge him for the horriffic work I had completed the day before. Mr. Feinberg seemed not to understand when I took offense to this. He changed his mind about promises he had already made, and did not care how hard I had worked for him. he routinely called his construction workers "stupid", told me stories about his ex girlfriends that made me extremely uncomfortable, and was open about cheating on his wife, who is also his business partner. I do not recommend this guesthouse.
