The mini-bars in the rooms are fully equipped with a large choice of drinks and snacks at reasonable prices. A copious cold breakfast buffet is served from 7a.m. to 10a.m. Within 30 meters from the hotel there are both Italian and French restaurants.

Hotel Phoenix was such a great place to stay! Very accessible-- close to the airport, and thanks to Geneva's SUPERB bus lines, "close" to the train station. The staff was nice and spoke English very well. The room was simple, but provided everything we needed: a comfy bed, a nice bathroom, a great TV, and a large armoire. There's no breakfast, but there's a bakery across the street. The Hotel truly complemented our great stay in Geneva.

The staff was esp. helpful, even taking us to the train station to catch another train, and then giving us ideas of what and where to visit with little time to spend in Geneva. The room was quite large and the bathroom clean and nice.

The owner gave us a free public transportation pass. He also showed us where to go and how to get to different places around town. He also drove us to the airport which was no more than 5 minutes away.

I had a very bad experience with this hotel. When i made a reservation with hostelclub, i been informed that i would only need to pay a remaining amount of CHF 223.21. However, upon the check out, the hotel owner told me that i would be charged for another CHF 11.80 in respect of the VAT tax. Although the amount is not big, i still felt that i have been cheated as it didnt state clearly in the email correspondences that room rate is excluding tax. In addition, during our two days stay, we been told by one of the hotel staff that the breakfast is inclusive in our package and hence, we were happily having the breakfast in the hotel. But upon check out, the hotel owner claimed that they are not free, we have to pay CHF 14 per person for that simple continental breakfast. We have tried to argue with the hotel owner that we are not aware of the extra charges on breakfast and been told that they are inclusive, but he replied us that he was not going to be responsible for the wrong advice given by his staff and at the end of the day, we compromised with each other that, we would pay for one day breakfast instead of two days. With the above two incidents, i will suggest the traveller who is going to book this hotel, to request for a detailed terms and conditions from the hotel in email in order to avoid extra charges.
