Very Good I stayed at Babel Guesthouse this past September (2008) and was quite impressed. I had a single room with a private bath, both of which were spacious and clean. The room also was equipped with air conditioning and cable TV, so it was a nice place to relax after a hard day of temple exploring. As for the staff, I had nothing but positive experiences with the ones I interacted with. There are plenty of restaurants, internet cafes, and stores in the nearby area, but it is not in the immediate vicinity of the Bar Street, old market, and the other concentration of guesthouses. I actually preferred this since I was looking for a calmer place close to the "backpackers' ghetto" but not directly in it. As for price, while it's not the absolute cheapest in Siem Reap, I did feel as though you got more for the few extra dollars that you had to pay to stay at Babel, and it was still a good deal overall.
