2 I spent my first night in Cairo at this hotel -- luckily it was only one night. Our group of sixteen was warmly greeted and served juice upon arriving even though it was very late, but when we got to our room it turned out that the hotel had lost the key! This meant we either had to leave the door unlocked or go down to ask the front desk to open it for us every time we wanted to go in. When we entered the room, things went from bad to worse. The huge closet door fell off when we opened it, and the toilet did not flush due to the extremely low water pressure. We ended up having to pour bottles of water into it was it "flushed" in order to get it to work. There were some good things however -- dinner and breakfast were excellent, the room was spartan, but clean, and the staff were friendly. Also, there was no satellite TV.

5 The staff here helped us save our trip and our image of Egypt. The rooms have everything you need. We had no problems getting assistance for anything we needed and the tour agency they hooked us up with gave us an amazing last two days of our trip.

3 Not so bad. The people there are nice, and the rooms are okay. It's more suited to people backpacking than people who want a relaxing holiday. You get free breakfast there and they have a restaurant at night. The location is very far away, so you might want to look for somewhere closer to town. But it's good for backpackers and people who aren't fussed about what the room looks like!

1 Please be wary of Mr. Hussein Saied, who is associated with this hotel. He is a great one to make false promises, to take you to not-so-good hotels on the pretext of excursions and even leave you stranded by not sending you the promised and booked taxi drop to the airport for your return journey. We nearly missed our flight because of this. The hotel staff are quite immune to any complaints about the rooms. Our shower drain remained clogged for the six days of our stay, despite repeated complaints. On the last day, the drain overflowed and the water seeped into the room itself.

2 The service is not so great, and they don't have satellite TV. The room is so small, and not so clean, but I liked the restaurant. ;)

2 Black and white television! Broken air conditioning, ripped curtains etc... The minibar was empty!
