Hostal Loreto Reviews

Description

Hostal Loreto is in the centre of the old city of Denia, close to many good restaurants and shops. It is rumoured that there is a secret tunnel to the castle on the hill top behind the hotel. The hotel was formerly a nunnery and was built by the Marques de Campo about 450 years ago. It is 600 metres from the beach and has 41 recently renovated rooms, mainly en-suite. There are activities to suit everyone in and around Denia, including golf, sailing, scuba diving, kite surfing, jet skiing, mountain biking, and climbing. However some people come just to enjoy the 12 kilometres of beautiful beaches! Denia is close to the airports of Alicante, Valencia and Murcia. It is an old port with ferry services to Ibiza and the Balearics.

Location and Contact

Location

• BY CAR:
• As you enter Denia from the A7 you drive straight-on over a series of roundabouts. There is a Macdonald's on the left just before the second last roundabout and a petrol station on the left just before the last one. Exit the final roundabout at the second exit into the Av. de Valencia and drive straight on until you reach the no-entry signs (at the end of the Calle Loreto!). Turn right into the Plaza Valgamedios and turn immediately (sharp) left into the Ronda de las Murallas. At the first set of traffic lights you have two options;
• Option 1 - to drive to the Hotel:
• Turn right following the Ronda de las Murallas around the perimeter of the castle where it first becomes Sanchis Guarner, then Fora Mur and finally Calle de la Mar (on the other side of the castle). At the end of the Calle de la Mar drive straight-on towards the Plaza Constitucion ignoring the restricted access signs (do not follow the main flow of traffic turning left into Calle Diana). Occasionally the street is partially closed off with a yellow barrier. Ignore this and drive around it as necessary. Turn right onto the Plaza and exit left into Calle Loreto where you will see the Hotel in front of you. If the hydraulic bollards which are used to close the street are in place, stop in front of them and come to the Hotel and we will come and open the street for you. If the street is open drive to the Hotel and we will take you to the parking after you have deposited your luggage and checked in.
• Option 2 - to drive directly to our parking:
• Turn sharp right into the Av. del Cid. Then turn immediately right (after 5 meters) into San Antonio. After 30 meters (just before the road forks) turn sharp left into N. St del Carmen. At the end of this street turn right into Desamparados, cross the junction with San Sebastian and our parking is just ahead on the left (fenced off area) at the junction with Calle Loreto. If the parking is open park your car, turn left into Calle Loreto and walk 100 yards to the Hotel. Alternatively phone the hotel from your mobile and we will come and unlock the gates.
• If you arrive in Denia by ferry then drive to the roundabout at the junction of Calle de la Marina y Valencia and Calle Benidorm. This is easily recognised because of the large steel sculpture on it. Turn into Calle Benidorm and turn left at the first set of traffic lights into Calle Dr Fleming. At the T junction turn left onto the Ronda de las Murallas and proceed as described above under Option 1.
• If you get lost or are unsure of where you are just give us a call and we will talk you in.
• BY BUS:
• Walk towards the supermarket at the bus station and turn right into the Calle de la Via. Take the first turning on the left into Calle San Jose and walk to the T junction with Calle Loreto. From here you can see the hotel on your right.
• BY TRAIN:
• Cross the Plaza Oculista Buigues in front of the station and walk towards the main shopping street the Marques de Campo. Turn left into the Marques de Campo and walk to the square Glorieta del Pais Valencia. Turn right into Calle del Cop and proceed to the Plaza de la Constitucion. Calle Loreto is the second street on the left off the Plaza.
• BY FERRY:
• If you are on foot, depending on which pier the ferry has docked at, proceed either via Marques de Campo (see train instructions) or via Calle de la Mar (see car instructions). If you are driving follow the car instructions above.
