• Bayerisch Eisenstein is easy to reach from the UK. It takes about 10 hours to drive here from Calais and 2 hours by car from Munich, Prague or Linz airports and 3 hours from Salzburg airport.
• A car is not essential. There are good local bus and train services and some great deals on fares, including free local bus and train travel for duration of stay, under the GUTi scheme (bayerwald-ticket.com).
• We are happy to collect guests from and return them to the village station, if required.
• The Gastehaus is only 10-15 minutes walk from the station at Bayerisch Eisenstein. There are hourly trains to Plattling, where there are connections to inter-city trains. From Bayerisch Eisenstein trains run once an hour, from approximately 4am until about 9pm each day.
• If you are walking from the station, come out the front of the building and turn left. Take the 1st right down the hill, Hohenzollerstrasse. Cross the road at the pedestrian crossing to the left of the junction, and follow the zigzag footpath uphill. Follow this path to the T-junction at the top (about 100 meters), (in the summer, there are a number of seats on the way up, for admiring the view). Turn left at the T-junction and take the next road on the left. Follow the road round to the right, we are the third house on the right.
