The central position of Corte, in the centre of Corsica, allows you to visit the whole region without changing hotels. Not far away are the lovely valleys of the Restonica and Tavignano which are a trekkers’ paradise.
Furthermore, here are some examples of travelling times needed to get to some of the most famous places on the island:

Ile Rousse (50 minutes), Calvi (1h), Bastia (1h), Ajaccio (90 min), Porto Vecchio (2h), Bonifacio (2h20), Bavella (90 min), Haut-Asco (1h), Porto (2h30)...

You won't regret your time in Corte, much cheaper (and better) than everywhere in Corsica.
