Night Lodge

We offer attractive and affordable rooms in our mini hostel, rather than the overpriced hotels and busy large hostels why not stay in a relaxed and centrally located hostel which offers comfortable and cheap double rooms. The hostel has a very tranquil atmosphere even with its city central location; the rooms are finished to a high hostel standard.

Our hostel

Night lodge has six double rooms in a beautiful periodic building (Altbau). Many of the original features have been retained, for example the flooring, this provides an appealing authenticity. Each room has a queen size bed, wardrobe, dresser and writing desk. The larger rooms include a couch. The spacious kitchen provides all necessary equipment, including some extra features for example a dishwasher and washing machine. There is one shared bathroom with a bath, sink and shower, plus a separate WC.

Surroundings

Night lodge is a five minute walk from Dammtor station (Hamburg's second biggest train station). The hostel is situated between Planten un Bloomen (large park including Japanese gardens), Sternschanze and the university, making it very much in the heart of Hamburg, with this it manages to escape the hustle and bustle of a busy city. Sunny afternoons can be spent in the nearby park or evenings in the schanze area, where you will find plenty of entertainment with many restaurants and bars. Other areas for example St Pauli, the harbour or the new city can all be easily accessed with the underground from Dammtor station, everywhere can be reached within ten minutes from the hostel.

Shopping and entertainment

Being in close proximity to the university means that there are many quant shops, bars and café's within the local area. This creates a great atmosphere and good shopping opportunities. There is also a supermarket very close by. Two doors down from the hostel lies a small and friendly Celtic inspired bar named "Zum tanzenden Einhorn" here you can get various beverages and great local beers, also in the neighbourhood, there is an Australian bar, it is only four doors away from the hostel, and there you will be met with an authentic Aussie experience, as it is called the "Downunder" the name in itself says it all. This bar has great food served until midnight with many drinks, not to mention a few Australian beers and a friendly relaxed and fun ambiance.
