• There are 5 ferry routes onto the Isle of Wight:
• 1. Lymington - Yarmouth (Only 2 miles away)
• 2. Southampton - Cowes (15 miles)
• 3. Portsmouth - Ryde (No motor vehicles - 19 miles)
• 4. Portsmouth - Fishbourne (Only recommended by car)
• 5. Southsea - Ryde (By hovercraft - fun but more expensive)
• From Yarmouth take bus number 7 to Freshwater (Memorial Hall bus stop).
• From Ryde or Cowes take any bus to Newport where you can change at the bus station for the number 7 bus to Freshwater (Memorial Hall bus stop).
• When you arrive in Freshwater, from the Memorial Hall you will see a sign that says 'Totland' pass this sign as you walk down the road ('The Avenue'). Turn left into Amos Hill and take the next left into a private road where you will see a sign that says 'Roselands' (and a 5mph speed limit sign). At the bottom of this road you will see the holiday home, it is marked with a black sign '17'.
• There are trains on the island but they do not cover this side of the island. However, the bus service is very good and you only need to buy one ticket to your destination (even if you have to change buses).
• Bus passes are very good value and are half price if you have a student card.
