Broadstairs is a beautiful seaside town boasting 30 miles of sandy coastline along the Thanet coast. The author, Charles Dickens wrote many novels in Broadstairs and the town is steeped in history. This lovely Victorian house, newly renovated is welcoming to people from all over the world, and can provide self catering, bed and breakfast or half board accommodation. London is one and a half hours by train. The university town of Canterbury is just half an hour by bus. The port of Dover and Dover castle are just half an hour by train or bus. From Ostend, you can take the 4 hour ferry crossing to Ramsgate, which is just 3 kms from Broadstairs. From Broadstairs Train Station, walk towards the sea and at the end of the street turn left into Albion Street. You will see the Dolphin Pub on your left and then a car park and after the Lord Nelson Pub. Devonshire Terrace is next to the Lord Nelson pub. No. 7 is at the end of the street. The landlady can collect you free of charge of Broadstairs train station.

Re: Buses:- The National Express Bus goes from London Victoria to Broadstairs 4 times per day. Local buses run every ten minutes.

Re: Trains:- Broadstairs Train Station is 10 minutes walk away from 'Tranquility House' Broadstairs. Trains run to London Bridge, London Victoria, Dover, Canterbury, Whitstable and all of Kent

Re: Distances: London 75 miles. Dover 20 miles. Canterbury 10 miles.

Re: Taxis: Numerous taxi companies. The 'Tranquility House' Broadstairs landlady, Karen, can collect from Broadstairs town centre, free of charge.

Re: Airports: Kent International Airport/ Manston is just 10 minutes drive from the house. London Gatwick is a 1 and a half hour drive.

Absolutely loved this place - and not a cat in sight (not sure what that previous review was on about!). Its extremely affordable, clean and airy. Beautiful clean bathrooms - so you really don't miss going for an en-suite - our bathroom even had a lovely sea view! Breakfast is served in a small but bright conservatory and our host was kind enough to spare us the Great British fry-up, we had a lovely spread of toast, cereals, yoghurts and fresh fruit instead... oh and Lurpak... very important!
