Vigo is a seaside city in Galicia that offers a great mixture of urban and traditional culture. If you rather enjoy the more rustic and laid back seaside, you can opt to travel to the outskirts, knowing that you would rely on bus transportation to get downtown, as this is, along with taxis, the only means of transportation in Vigo -- there is no metro or urban trains.

While in Vigo, immerse yourself into the Galician culture that is truly connected to the sea -- explore the "rias" taking boat trips up to Islas Cies, indulge in the fresh seafood ubiquitously available (oysters are the highlight of Vigo and the best can be found in the Mercado by the shore) as well as tapas and pinchos with regional products from Galicia, including homemade chorizos and other cuts.
