Guilleumes Hostel  "This is a very clean and polished hostel, though it felt more like a small hotel -- it was really nice! We seemed to be the only two people staying there, which was...interesting. We arrived late and the hostel was all locked up with nobody there, which was odd; luckily, I happened to meet some people who called the owner for me and we got in. Monistrol de Montserrat Travel Tips & Suggestions Comment by Russell Britton My only regret when we visited Montserrat is that we did not allow more time, we did not go to the top of the mountain and lastly we did not stop overnight. Our stay, as short as it was, was breathtaking. The thought of building on this mountain such a long time ago places our modern day architects as mere learners. The whole Monastry has left us with wonderful memories. Comment by Caitlin This place will make any inexperienced traveller feel intimidated and isolated. I spent the worst 2 days of my life here in intense culture shock. I should have stayed in Barcelona! Going up to the top of the mountain on the train was wonderful. On a clear day you can see the Mediterranean Sea. I didn't find any good places to eat or much else to do here. The streets are so, so narrow and winding and it was crazy! Nobody spoke English, except for the girl that helped me to get to the hostel. What a trippy place! That mountain just sits there looming over the town where schoolchildren play and old ladies hang their laundry to dry on their balconies.
