Tenerife Hostels

Tenerife is one of the Canary Islands, and is part of the Spanish crown. It is a favorite destination among European sun seekers. You can expect a sunny blue sky and nice sandy beaches all year long. Many tourists visit the place just for the relaxing beach.

If you're visiting for the sun, make sure you pick a Tenerife hostel on the southern side of the island, and not on the remote hilly center of the island. If you are into clubbing, you will have plenty opportunities, especially if you stay in the the south. If you're visiting in the winter it's not a very good time to visit the island if you want to spend the night out clubbing. From October through the spring, the island is mainly visited by an older crowd just wishing to enjoy the sun and the local attractions (camel ride, wine and food tasting, ‘local’ markets, and animal parks).

When staying in a Tenerife hostel, the main attraction you don’t want to miss, even if you're not much into nature is the Mount Teide National Park with its fantastic white peak surrounded by bare lava fields. There are plenty of hiking opportunities in the park with several trails, both long and short. Hostels in Tenerife tend to offer excursions, sometimes including hikes, to the park. If yours doesn't, many local tour shops will give you the opportunity to go to the volcano, even if you don't have your own transportation. When you go there don’t forget a jacket because, it is always much cooler on the mountain than on the coast.

Hostels in Tenerife are scattered around the island, and can be used if you are planning a long hike or bike ride around the island. Just choose one close to the things you are most interested.
