"Funky Backpackers Hostel is a nice, quaint place to stay while you are in Granada. The Location The hostel is located in the heart of Granada. It's a twenty-minute hike up the hill to the Alhambra palace, a couple of minutes away from the tapas bars, and easily accessible by the bus. The hostel is tucked away in a small, narrow cobbled backstreet that has its own charm. Rooms and...
"Oasis Backpackers' Hostel Granada offers free breakfast. It is the usual coffee, juice, cereal, milk but it is free. For people traveling on a budget, they offer great cultural dining experiences for a few Euro --and yes, they have vegetarian food too! They also offer a free Tapas Tour on Sundays. For a fee, Spanish lessons are offered three times a week. Upon arrival, you are given a free...
"Backpackers Posada de Colón Hostel is a diamond in the rough. Although the hostel's surroundings might leave a guest a bit skeptical as he makes his way to the hostel for the first time (the hostel's own directions include instructions to "turn right at an abandoned, graffitied building"), it is a delight. Upon entering the building, there is a wonderful Andalusia-style patio common area, a...
"The last real hostel in Granada. The cheapest AND cleanest beds and hammocks in town smack dab in the middle of the oldest, most magical, psychedelic quarter, the labyrinth Albayzin. Killer terrace. Scarlet Begonias. The only travelers station in Granada with organic food and perhaps the only one in the Albayzin that recycles! Besides having slept at hostels all over the world, we have...

Therefore we are no longer offering beds for guests." … "Wish I was there with you lot!!! Sending Rodders, Pato and Sarah a big kiss.... hope things are better for you now Pato. Clarita xxxx...
"Each room has a closet and bathroom. Currently lockers aren't offered. There also isn't air conditioning or fans, but there are electric outlets next to the beds if you have a portable fan. The rooms are small with 3 people in each room and they resemble college dorm rooms. There is a common room with tables and chairs and a TV. Breakfast (a roll, juice, and coffee) is included." …...
"This hostel is tiny, occupying one floor of a building. There are only 10 beds in all (all co-ed), and one bathroom that is pretty small. The common area is comfortable and inviting, and the kitchen, though limited, seems to be a gathering area both in the morning and at night. There are no lockers here, but the staff is constantly around, watching the rooms and the people who come in and...
"Excellent staff, very helpful with their tips about the city. This hostel is very new, not yet completely finished, but it will be awesome!!! It has great views of the Alhambra from the rooftop." … "This hostel rocks!!! Don't miss it if you are visiting Lorca's town!!" … Animas 2

The city is beautiful and full of culture. Alhambra was beautiful and enchanting as was the warm weather -- can't wait to return. For all you clubbers out there, go to Granada Diez. For culture, visit flamenco dances. There is also a water park not too far -- about a bus ride -- called Aquaola. The people weren't too friendly there -- a bit on the racist side -- but there we go! The rides were thrilling if you're into that kind of thing! Granada is a must see.

Alhambra is beautiful -- a must-see for anybody passing through Andalusia. Granada itself is also very nice.

Up around the Alhambra, an old lady came up to me and offered me a sprig of rosemay -- she kind of forced it on me, actually, and then grabbed my hand and started telling me things in Spanish, like it was a blessing or something, and then demanded 5 Euros! Beware!!!

Granada was magical. It made my whole 2 1/2 weeks trip to Spain worthwhile. I miss it so much. Try to hike up to Sacramonte. There was an old couch up there, cactuses, and a woman sitting on the couch who kept smiling and waving at us. You can see the whole city from up there, the old Arab quarter, and la Alhambra, with its flags blowing and the mountains looming in the background.

Granada is a must see for anyone passing through southern Spain. The Alhambra is amazing. Try and reserve your tickets in advance. Also wander around the Albacin, or hike up the mountains and listen to the Gypsies play music, while enjoying the view. Don't bother staying anywhere that isn't close to the Albacin, because Garanda doesn't have much else to offer in the other areas.

Granada is an interesting place. It is a mixture of old (the Alhambra, the original streets) with the new (modern shops, a very young crowd, as it is a university town). It is a lively place with plenty of street musicians, a spirit of flamenco in the air (though less than I was hoping for), and one of the best part--teahouses! The Arabic influences are my favorite part of Granada. Now I am going to tell you the single best part of Granada which most people will miss: the birds. In several places, you will see HUNDREDS of tiny, ovalish brown birds flying all over the place within a certain radius of their perching trees, but mostly just making a really loud racket. They can be found in several places and plazas, but in particular, on an unassuming side street in the courtyard of the "Banco de Espania," across the street from a scummy strip-joint. Here, the birds gather and talk with one another all day and all night long; I would often pass at 1 or 2 AM and they were easily the loudest source of sound in the area! It is really quite amazing and beautiful, and yet most peoople will or probably not even notice them. Really quite sad.
