"This place is fabulous. Great, helpful, friendly staff. Really nice, clean rooms, excellent location and a great kitchen."
"clean bed linen and good smell, quite near to the Castle and the loch ness. free computer for the internet -- great for those travelling without a...![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() "Inverness Hostel SYHA has to be the largest hostel in the country. Despite that, it's a little hard to find. It's out in the middle of a residential area (a posh one at that) and the street names are all slight variations of each other, so it's easy to make a wrong turn and find yourself back where you started. Perhaps because of its upscale surroundings, there's not one sign directing you...![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() "The Inverness Tourist Hostel is a comfortable hostel. The hostel has a very good location and great facilities.
The Location
The hostel's large, yellow signs are immediately noticeable on one side of the outdoor bus station. Any passengers arriving on Megabus, National Express, or Scottish Citylink will be arriving here as it is the main and only stop in Inverness. From the train...![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() "Bazpackers' Hostel is farther from the intercity transportation than several other establishments, but the extra walk is worth it. A little ways up the hill from Inverness Castle on Culduthel Road behind a small restaurant, it is about five hundred meters from High Street and the town center and is just as convenient for any activities in and around Inverness as any other local hostel.

Highlander Hostel is conveniently located right on High Street, in the pedestrian section of town. It's a short walk from the bus and train station, about ten minutes. Once you've figured out how to get around, Inverness is an easy city to manage. The bus ticket office can give you a map. Directions from the bus station -- walk down Margaret Street to Academy Street and turn...![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() "Fab place, very clean. There's only a few showers... but hey I never had to wait for anyone. For the ones who were waiting, there were chairs!!! The people were very nice, especially the blondish girl at reception. It also has a fabulous kitchen that allows some real cooking. We cooked macaroni for 16 people in there!!!"
"This is for sure the BEST hostel in Scotland, it is so much fun...(Fort Augustus) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() "This hostel provides a fantastic base for searching for the mysterious Nessie (Loch Ness monster). It is right on the shores of the Loch.
At times there is a lack of hot water so need to shower nice and quick. It does really only cater for groups rather than individual travellers.
With home made meals you really can't go wrong and another fine example of Scottish hospitality."...
