Arequipay Backpackers Hostel

(Cercado)
"I came across this hostel almost by accident, its not in the guide books yet as its new but so glad I did. Stayed for four nights and have to say this was the most friendly, 'feels like home' hostel that I have been to in South America. The rooms were fine, the bed comfortable, plenty of blankets, fully equipped kitchen was handy, and the included breakfast was really good (i.e. fresh bread, freshly squeezed juice). Look no further for somewhere to stay in Arequipa."
"Highly recommended! - Arequipay Backpackers is one of the best...

"Very friendly and comfortable hostel. Nice and clean and with an excellent breakfast. They are able to organize any part of your stay in Arequipa — Colca, Misti, Chachani, etc. Highly recommended!!!"
"This is an excellent, fun place to stay, with a fantastic breakfast! Katty and Maria are cool. It's like being in your own home instead of a hostel (with your own Peruvian family!). Highly recommended!"

Arequipa Tambo Viejo Hotel
76%
(Centro)
"Tambo Veijo Hostel is located on a busy road a little outside the centre of town. The easiest way to get there is via taxi, as some of the streets in the immediate area aren't considered safe to walk along at night. From the front it's not the easiest to locate, but it's next door to another hostel and an internet cafe. Once safely there, it's a five to ten minute walk to the centre of town. As long as you stick to safe streets (the staff will tell which streets are ok) walking to and from the centre of town easy enough day or night....

Bothy Hostel

"Excellent place in Arequipa. I spent about over a month there in 2006. Went for a few days and ended up staying a few weeks instead. The owners are young, friendly Peruvians and tend to the place and guests with both care and cheer. There's are hammocks up above where I used to nap, and the younger brother of the three will take you out on the town if you're looking for some fun. If it's quiet you want, you can get that, too. Do check it out."

"I am very sad to be leaving. If you want a clean, reasonably priced, wonderfully located, relaxing hostal in Arequipa, this is the one. The family who owns and runs it is amazing. It is also very safe. I will return to Arequipa, solely because of this family."
"I have visited the hotel and family two times and it feels like my second home. Nice, warm, helpful, friendly people. I give my highest recommendation to La Casona de Romaña and I am already looking forward to my third visit."
