"A good place to stay for the adventure/budget traveler in an amazing and very old and poor neighborhood filled with real people, incredible spanish colonial architecture and major Panama history. For $12 i got a private room with a cold water shower that was clean and secure. even though there was no outside window in my room the air was stirred by an adequate ceiling fan. "Clean, but rude - I have stayed for two weeks at the Hostel de Clayton, and have been thoroughly unimpressed by it. While the accommodations are very clean, the staff is extremely cheap and rude. While they advertise rooms for $12, this does not prove to be true. The rooms are actually $15, which wouldn't be such a big deal if the weren't such internet nazis. "This is one of the best hostels i've stayed in. The people were friendly & helpful, the dorm room had AC & (hot water) showers, the kitchen was well equipped, they have a great living area with huge (cable) tv & a dvd player, a courtyard (with a few hammocks), free tea & coffee all day, breakfast was included in the price, free unlimited internet & a huge selection of books to exchange. "Anita's Inn seems like a higher end hostel, certainly cleaner than most places we've been to, and friendlier. The bilingual service is well appreciated. The people are nicer and more educated than your typical backpacker place perhaps because you run into Spanish students from the partner school downstairs with a serious interest in culture and knowing Panama. "Clean, staff are competent and very friendly, great atmosphere - Went to Panama on business and land prospecting. I went to Zuly's several times in three trips to Panama. Could afford a more "classical" hotel, but loved the energy and great atmosphere at Zuly's. Could eat out, or cook a nice meal at "home," sometimes two or three of us cooked together and shared a meal. The entire staff are very helpful. The place is very well run.
