"This place was clean, comfortable, and had a nice kitchen and TV room/lounge. The bathroom was a bit crowded. I didn't see any soup when I was there, but they brought out fresh warm (free) bread in the morning. "I stayed and worked here for four months in 1995/6. It's a fantastic place and that was the best four months of my life so far. "This is a good option if you decide to stay in quiet little Picton, either side of the ferry ride. "Fantastic hostel and cheap - What a great hostel, and fantastic staff make you feel very welcome. The internet is only $2 for thirty minutes and they have awesome computers. Loads of space in the dorm and lockers we were able to store our bags in while we walked the queen charlotte track were only $2 for three days! "Excellent - We did three weeks backpacking through NZ and stayed in some hideous hostels. this one was our favorite. It was very clean, modern, and comfortable. The owners were very friendly and helpful and the price was very reasonable (it also included breakfast).
