"Go Global is a fine place to stay if you’re simply looking to party away the night in the center of Taupo, but if you’re hoping to get a good night’s rest, it’s not the place for you. The hostel is located as close to the Taupo nightlife as you can get. It’s directly above an Irish pub and is right in the middle of downtown, an easy walk to most of Taupo’s...  "Taupo Urban Retreat is a nice hostel in Taupo. Upbeat, popular, and friendly, you'll probably enjoy it too.
Taupo Urban Retreat is located between the main grocery store and the lake, only a few short blocks from both. There are lots of shops nearby as well. The large dorms were some of the nicer we stayed at, with huge spacious rooms, lots of windows, and high ceilings with sloping walls.... "Taupo Central Backpackers is located right in the middle of the city and is just a stone's throw away from the huge Lake Taupo. There are numerous shops, bars, restaurants, and other amenities close by.
The hostel itself is rather tatty and could seriously do with some redecorating. There are areas of corridor with no carpet - just bare concrete and the dorms are quite shabby too. All of... "Berkenhoff Lodge is a quiet retreat away from the busy centre of Taupo, yet it is a pleasant twenty minutes' walk or five minutes' drive to the shopping centre, and a fifteen-minute walk to the lake foreshore.
The hostel has a well-equipped kitchen, an upstairs lounge with a view of the back lawn, and a bar downstairs that is open each evening from 6 p.m. offering BBQ meals for those who... My room was bigger than I expected and was even equipped with its own balcony! I had an amazing night at element bar and I couldn't even hear any music when I went to bed, which is a surprise. I will recommend this hostel... "Burke's Backpackers is a quiet and laid back hostel comprised of two long buildings, one of which has two floors. Each of the rooms opens out into a common courtyard, which is a great grassy area for sunning or reading.
