(Bay of Islands)   "If you plan on staying in the lovely town of Russell, consider staying in this nice little owner-operated hostel. It is a ten minute level walk from the pier (where you will arrive if you catch the ferry from Paihia) in a quiet local neighborhood. Pick up a local map or the hostel's brochure in the visitor center there at the end of the pier for directions.
The hostel is actually the owner's transformed home, with one large dorm room, a few smaller rooms, and a kitchen and living room...."If you're heading to Russell and are looking for a fun and slightly different place to stay, try End of the Road Backpackers. An approximately five minute walk takes you to the base of a large hill, and the views from this hostel at the top makes the climb worth the effort! The hostel is actually just a small two-bedroom house, with a maximum capacity of four: two single beds in one room, and a double bed in the other. The beds are comfortable, and sheets are included. The rooms are equipped... "Pukeko Cottage is a 1920's character cottage with fabulous views over the Bay and village. An eclectic collection of objet d'art and huge range of books and games sets the scene in the lounge.A guitar is available.
Maximum number of guests is 7 with peace and quiet assured.
One bedroom is a twin with own small balcony with sea views.
One bedroom has a duobunk [ double below and single above] usually let a a double.
A 1950's caravan adjoins the cottage and this also has a double. A picnic... No description yet.
