Karioi Lodge is located in the heart of native bushland, just a few kilometers from the town centre and a short coastal walk away from the beach. It is the perfect retreat for a few days' relaxation away from the usual chaos of the backpackers' world. Raglans Backpacker  "This is one of the best backpackers I have ever stayed in. The accommodation is nice, with clean bedrooms located around a peaceful courtyard with hammocks and sun chairs. There are great communal areas, in particular the lounge/dining area, which has a fire and extra comfy sofas and lots of magazines to flick through. You can hire surfboards, body boards and kayaks. The trick is to enjoy the little quirks and absorb the environment and take the positives. That would be why a lot of people are not disappointed.
