   "Bay Adventurer is a relatively new backpacker in Paihia that is very clean and close to the beach. As there is no restaurant or bar, occupants can walk down the street a very short ways for drink or food, which keeps the Bay Adventurer a bit quieter than the more rambunctions neighbors.
The place feels more like a motel than a backpackers, with all the rooms opening to the outside rather...  "Situated on King's Road, along with many other hostels, Pipi-patch is in an ideal location for exploring Pahia and the other areas of the Bay of Islands. All of the major "Backpacker Buses" (e.g. Kiwi Experience, Magic, Stray) will drop off and pick-up from here, and the public buses stop just a short walk away.
The dorms are very clean and are arranged in a motel-style layout with entry... "You'll love everything about this hostel. Brand new, clean as can be, friendly owners, great location... the list goes on! Saltwater Lodge is located at the beach-end of the main backpacker street in Paihia, within easy walk of everything. On the ground level of the property you will find the reception office, and further in, a large free carpark. Luggage storage is also available by the... "Lodge Eleven is a clean, well-equipped hostel just two minutes' walk from the sandy beach, and ten minutes' walk into the centre of Paihia and the wharf, the base for a wide range of boat trips including the famous Cream Trip.
Each room has an en-suite and all bedding is provided. Downstairs is a well-equipped kitchen, and a lounge with games, books, and TV. As well as an indoor dining... Bryan and Jan extend a warm 'kiwi' welcome.
Twin/double/triple family rooms with/without ensuite. Hotel quality mattresses. Ensuite 4 share rooms. Spacious indoor/outdoor living areas. Large,well equipped kitchen + 2 BBQ's,FREE-mountain bikes, kayaks, tennis, extensive video and DVD libary (50'TV) ,tea,coffee and baggage storage.
Cheap guest phone and internet. Local tour booking... "Pickled Parrot Backpackers has recently changed ownership. There is no parrot anymore but the new owner who lives there and runs the place has some very friendly pets. This place provides pillowcases, clean sheets, duvet, blankets, towels, and a simple breakfast in the morning (cereal and fruit).
The Location
The hostel is very easy to find -- you'd pass by a sign on your left when... "This hostel is run by the owners and their little girl, which adds a great personal touch. They have over 100 DVDs that you can get put on for free but not only that they have kayaks, bikes, BBQ and table tennis but best of all a spa all free.
