"The Lion's Den hostel is a very small hostel run by a very friendly owner who treats everyone like family. This hostel has a personable environment. When you first arrive, you see brightly colored walls and unique sculptures. You feel right at home in this hostel which has themed bedrooms, a courtyard, living room, kitchen, and bathrooms.
Everyone at the Lion's Den is relaxed and happy.... "The hostel and hosts were excellent. Always available, willingly looked after my valuables, provided good advice, and made a phone booking for me using their local knowledge. I would unhesitatingly recommend this hostel to other backpackers. The ride from Coromandel to Fletcher Bay is breath taking with coastal vistas and century old pohutukawa trees lining as sentries along the roadside.
Situated at the beginning of the 3hr each way famous Coromandel walkway and minutes walk from safe swimming and fishing beaches....
